The weekend is fast approaching if not already here for some of us and yes it’s time to look into our closets for the perfect outfits to represent our stylish selves for the weekend. With the beautiful sunny weather in Nairobi right now I am pretty sure most of us are planning to bask in the sun one way or another. My outfit today was inspired by everything delicate and beautiful fit for a lady. This simple shift dress with sheer mesh inserts and embroidered floral lace overlay stands out in the crowd with its delicate yet extremely stylish design. What I love about this dress is the simple fact that besides being a fashion classic whose versatility remains to be admired is also the fact that this flattering piece for everyone can solely get you through the weekend for different occasions. Just to name a few for instance,
- For a wedding, this dress would be perfect as you don’t have to add anything to it as it stands out already. By adding a pair of low to medium heels depending on your comfort, makes it even better. Try block heels for a change.
- A cocktail party, who doesn’t wish to stand out and be comfortable at the same time? well I know I do. And this piece paired with caged heels has all the drama and evening perfection laid out.
- For social events, like music festivals or any event that requires a casual outfit, look no further a shift dress is perfect in this cases as it offers room to move around and a little breathing space while still maintaining its stylish aspects. Pair it with a classic pair of flats in which case there is a lot to choose from ranging from brogues and oxfords, flat booties, moccasins or loafers or go bold with a statement pair of flats with embellishments or one with a striking bright color or an interesting pattern. Don’t forget your sunnies and a smile to rock that event.
- For birthdays, showers, brunch or just running errands, a shift dress comes in handy. A low heel or simple flats like ballets or sandals will definitely elevate your style game.
These among other reasons are why I’m in love with shift dresses and most especially this one which to me has an appeal of a high-end designer even though it was sourced locally at some kibanda in Gikomba. I simply paired it with caged heels and a brown clutch bag. Have a look…
