Pleats please…

Hello hello my dears,I hope you all are well despite the biting cold and the constant rainy showers. I for one is longing for the sunny mornings but still grateful for the rain ha-ha. With warm thoughts lets talk pleats. I mean there is something gripping about the neat folds overlying on each other with such ease that compels one to instantly have the urge to handle the garment delicately and with such precision so as not to disrupt the beauty of it. Well maybe its just me In love.

Pleated skirts can be a little intimidating  and preppy but easily stylish and elegant if worn and paired correctly. Besides being eye catching and very feminine this trend will definitely be one of your favorites once you get the hang and the ease of styling this bottom piece. The trick is to simply combine the skirt with your favorites or better yet your best tops and cover ups from simple plain tees, chunky knits, lace tops to those gorgeous jackets and cardigans in your closet. Go crazy on the shoes, after all shoes make or break your outfit. The most important thing is your comfort and happiness, always.

Here’s how I styled my vintage pleated skirt.

First off I love the shade of blue on this skirt. I found it easy to make it blend with other warm colors and that’s how I got to this off shoulder lace top for a casual/formal look. I went for a printed bag that I  absolutely love for some contrasting drama to my outfit and added a pair of burgundy pumps to complete the look.

For the second look I substituted the  lace top for a striped shirt and layered the shirt with a sweater for a full on formal look. One can choose to tuck in the shirt or not. I went with the later to avoid bulging of the shirt underneath the skirt.. have a look,
